Diversity at the City of PAE means a workplace where individuals are recognised, respected, and engaged in ways that develop and harness everyone's strengths.We provide excellent working conditions with job security, flexible working arrangements and support for professional development.We currently have an exciting role for you to join our Construction Team.Assists to achieve service standards which are part of our construction and maintenance program.Help keep the community safe during extreme weather eventsMaintain the infrastructure that supports the safe movement of traffic through our City.Helps to make our City a cleaner, safer place to live and work.Complete a range of tasks with sensitivity to our heritage and natural environments.Contributes to our community's sense of place.Key responsibilities of the position include: General civil construction, maintenance and labouring duties including:Lay pipes and culvertsConstruct shoringLaying bricks and paversRoad and bitumen workConcrete work - general placement and some surface finishing of concrete.Erection and maintenance of the road signage.Hard rubbish removalConstruction and maintenance of drainage and storm water.Operate and maintain plant, equipment and tools associated with the duties of the position.Maintain a clean and safe worksite.Load and unload trucks.Truck driving (up to HR level).Operation of front-end leader (less than 7.5 tonnes GVM), self-propelled plant, wheeled tractors, trucks, compactor, roller, saw cutter, earth moving plant as required (excluding excavator, backhoe and grader).Traffic managementUndertake other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.Responsible for the completion of daily documentation.Appropriate information management practices are implemented.Other reasonable duties as required are undertaken.Leads safe work practices to support all WHS requirements.The successful applicant will have: Experience (2 year's minimum) in civil Construction industry position or a similar type of organisation) is desirable.Ability to conduct asset inspections & auditsAbility to read plansCapable of concrete finishingUnderstanding of concreting techniquesCompetent in line markingAbility to design, set out and install civil worksAbility to install junction boxes, boxing and kerbingAbility to work as part of a team'C' class Driver's LicenseHR Truck LicenseWork Zone Traffic Management licenseConstruction Industry White CardMore information can be found on the Position Description located below.This is a Grade 1-2 position which has a current salary range of $66,975.22 - $69,144.87 (Plus Super).Confidential enquiries can be directed to Troy Taylor on 8405 6641.To apply, simply complete the application process by clicking the 'Apply' button and attach your cover letter and resume.Applications close 5pm on the 18th of March 2022.
