It strengthens our financial management practices so we can continue delivering valued outcomes in a responsible and sustainable way.Key responsibilities of the position include:Process and manage supplier payments, including maintaining supplier details, paying invoices on time, and resolving any payment issues.Support financial systems and compliance, including purchase cards, reconciliations, tax reporting (TPAR/BAS/FBT), grants, and system testing.Assist with financial reporting and audits by preparing accurate information, workpapers, and documentation.The successful applicant will have:Completed or studying towards a tertiary qualification in accounting or commerce (or equivalent) is desirable.Strong administrative and accounts payable experience, ideally within Local Government, with sound knowledge of office procedures, records management, and relevant Council policies.Solid understanding of financial principles and compliance, including basic accounting, GST and FBT requirements, internal controls, reconciliations, and system/ledger processes.Proficient digital and organisational skills, including fast and accurate data entry, effective use of Microsoft applications, and the ability to manage time and adapt to changing priorities.More information can be found on the Position Description located below.This is a Level 3 position which has a current salary of $85,842 (plus Super).Confidential enquiries can be directed to Andrew Doyle, Corporate Accounting Leader on andrew.doyle@cityofpae.sa.gov.au.
