Delivering on the City’s strategic priorities the role encompasses community and sporting facilities, active reserves, programs, services, initiatives, grants, and planning relating to physical activity, wellbeing, sport, recreation, and club development.As our Active Living Leader you’ll:Establish strategic directions for Council sporting facilities, programs and club development, and play a key role in the development and implementation of Council’s Sports Development PlanDrive contemporary and innovative approaches to activating Council facilities; supporting our sport and recreation clubs; fostering active, healthy, connected lifestyles; and building wellbeing and resilienceProvide leadership, direction and oversight to Council’s Active Living TeamOversee The Lights and Lefevre Community and Sports CentresDevelop and maintain constructive relationships and represents Council’s interests with local sport and recreation clubs, peak sporting bodies, industry groups and other tiers of governmentProvide expert subject knowledge in relation to active living, wellbeing and resilience, recreation, and organised sportBe an active member of the Community Development Section’s leadership team As our ideal candidate you will:Be passionate about active lifestylesBe comfortable operating at both a strategic level and operational level to plan, implement and review programs, projects, services and facility operationsBe a proven leader of people and able to create a high performing teamHave great skills in establishing and maintain relationships with a broad range of clubs, groups and stakeholders, and able to skillfully negotiate conflicting interests and priorities among these groupsBring a range of networks and relationships relevant to the roleBe skillful in delivering presentations, and preparing reports, grant applications and submissionsHave a positive attitude, willingness to work in a team environment and enjoy a multi-faceted roleHave not less than five years experience in a relevant role within government, a peak sporting body or related organisationHold relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in sport, recreation, health sciences or a related field.This is a Level 6 position which has a current salary range of $97,674.58 - $104,457.67(plus Super).The City of Port Adelaide Enfield provides excellent working conditions, flexible working arrangements and support for professional development.
